Wedding at Kleinevalleij Wellington

Winnie & Hennie

Winnie & Hennie’s “Alice & Wonderland” themed wedding at Kleinevalleij was something to experience!  I only met Winnie a few days before the wedding, but in that short pre-wedding photo shoot it became very evident that she’s in love with fantasy and fairy tales – a real princess herself.

It was the obvious choice to have the wedding at Kleinvalleij in Wellington as Hennie was born and bred in this little Boland town that is famous for its wine farming.  Kleinevalleij was also the perfect blank canvas for Winnie to paint the way she wanted it. The ceremony ended with white doves being released and for confetti, the couple handed out colourful helium filled balloons to guests to let go as they came down the stairs.

The pre-reception drinks was done on the lawns with lounge pockets, croquet, french boules and a giant chess board.  Then there were stilt walkers and the impromptu actors of Afrodizzyacts; palm readers a string quartet and a local minstrel band.

Canapes and treats included kettle braaied chicken skewers, mini samosas and oysters by the handsome guys of Oyster King.  Later that evening Jon-Peer and his team of Firetribe wowed the guests with their signature fire performance that included the “love dance” – check this scary move out below!

Man, this must be the most exciting wedding at Kleinevalleij that I have ever covered.  Some of the stand-out elements for me was the very cool and trendy royal blue suits (Moi Styling) of the groom and best men and then the fab lighting design by Something Different used inside the reception venue.  Mood lighting like this really makes a huge difference to the ambiance of the evening!

All this would not have been possible without the outstanding event coordination of Lize-Mari and her team at WCollaboration.
