Protected: Wedding at Villa Padierna – Boda en Marbella Spain
Marbella, Spain
We’re over the moon to share Yinka & Gboyega’s wedding at Villa Padierna Palace Hotel in Marbella, Spain. It has been just over a month since I got back and these photos made me long back to those lovely long summers days in Europe – especially being right in the middle of a cold and wet winter here in Cape Town now.
Yinka booked us just a month before the wedding. We did her friend’s wedding at Lourensford back in South Africa not too long ago and she decided to fly us up to Marbella for her big day. Thx for the break from Winter!
Marbella can be scorching at the height of summer, but we were lucky to get the perfect mild summers day. Both the bride and groom did their preps at the 5-star Villa Padierna Hotel and that made the logistics a lot easier for us. Yinka got dressed at one of the stunning luxury suites, Villa Obama, at Villa Padierna – I justed loved the space, furniture and balconies – great setting for preps!
The outdoor ceremony was held in the purpose-built amphitheatre at the hotel – a fantastic setting that needs minimal hiring and decor to dress it up. Only thing is that it can be a bit tricky for a bride with a big dress to come down the stairs to get to the altar – but Yinka navigated those stairs very gracefully!
The grounds of Villa Padierna is simply spectacular. There is so much to work with, from lovely marble staircases, palm-lined pools and Roman-inspired interior, to the rolling hills and lakes that make up the state-of-the-art golf course that surrounds the hotel peaked on the hilltop. This is the proverbial photographers’ dream – totally spoiled for choice! We made full use of all the setting in the photo session and if it was not for a time cap, I’m sure I would still be shooting right now! I have to add, that with a stunning bride and willing groom it made this photo session one of my most enjoyable in recent years. I am very happy with the images we captured here!
The outdoor reception had us a tad worried, due to the lack of light in the evening. But the overhead fairy lights created a stunning “star-like” ceiling and ambience that helped to create the perfect end result. The gold and beige décor were very fitting for the majestic setting of the Villa Padierna Palace Hotel and a good match for our classy couple, Yinka and Gboyega. Our evening ended with the bouquet toss, but as we made our way back home after 11 hours on the job, most of the 250 guests were still dancing the night away on the perfect windless Spanish evening.
Thanks again Yinka and Gboyega for booking us for your wedding and a big thanks also to my dream team on the day!
