Imagine winning a wedding at Val de Vie worth R800 000!  For one lucky couple this is not a dream anymore, but a reality!  Kara & Dirk won the SA Wedding Show “Win a Wedding” competition last year.  It was the biggest wedding prize that has ever been given away in South Africa and the record might stand for a few years to come.

Apart from getting the luxurious Val de Vie as a wedding venue, Kara was also sponsored a beautiful Anna Georgina dress, a wedding video from Vision on Fire and plenty of other prizes.  ZaraZoo’s share was a wedding photography package worth R30 000 that included a pre-wedding photo shoot (see it here)

Although Kara & Dirk were at school together, the flame only started burning when they studied together at Stellenbosch University.  The couple now lives in Gauteng, but their dream had always been to have their wedding in the Cape Winelands.

Both bride and groom got ready on the estate with Kara arriving in a beautiful vintage car that was also later used for the couple photos.  The tented ceremony was done in the courtyard between the reception venue and the clubhouse at Val de Vie – A tented setup with 160 of their closest family and friends attending.

After the ceremony Natelee took Kara and Dirk around the estate, including the wine tasting house, vineyards and the polo field for photos.  While the couple had their photos done, guests were entertained to a real polo match while sipping on the finest bubbly and being treated to sumptious canapes from the Val de Vie kitchen.

The reception was a feast fit for royalty with styling done by Cream Event Library and music by Aleit Music & Entertainment.  Thanks to the SA Wedding Show, Die Burger and an element of luck, Kara & Dirk had their dream wedding realised in style!
