Wedding at Red Ivory
Red Ivory
This wedding at Red Ivory Lodge in Magallies was the smack-bang in the middle of a very crazy wedding weekend. This busy weekend started with a wedding on Thursday in Franschhoek, then catching a plane early Friday morning to shoot Ditshego & Seleme’s wedding at Red Ivory Lodge in Gauteng before catching a plane again in the early hours of Saturday morning to shoot our third wedding in a row back in Franschhoek!

Ditshego & Seleme’s wedding was the first wedding ZaraZoo Wedding Photography Gauteng shot at Red Ivory and I must say I was very surprised not only by the venue but also by the professional way the place is run and of course have to mention the talented Eve of Splendid Affairs that coordinated the event.
Photographing a wedding in Gauteng in summer is quite different from doing a summer wedding down in Cape Town. The sun sets 45 minutes earlier, and you have the ever imminent threat of thundershowers coming down unexpectedly. I must say, the light is quite a bit softer up there – in Cape Town the harshness and brightness around the same time of the year is insane!
Ditshego & Seleme’s wedding was one of the most classy African weddings I have covered. Both bride and groom are lookers and their choice in decor and styling is impeccable! But it was also the choice in venue that made this event the 5-star affair it was! I rate Red Ivory Lodge as one of the top 5 venues in Gauteng.
