Imogen & Savvas’s intimate wedding at La Residence is only the 2nd one we have covered at this beautiful Franschhoek wedding venue. Our all girls team Natelee Cocks & Jo-Lizna Botha did a fantastic job – and this just two days after Christmas!!
La-Residence is set up the slope of the Franschhoek mountains, with breathtaking views over the valley below and vineyards surrounding the estate. The luxury estate is a true 5-star venue – built and decorated in old-French style. The thatched reception hall with chequered floor is lit by massive crystal chandeliers. To add to the regal feel, the walls and surrounding grounds are decorated with a high value art collection and sculptures. Definitely a venue fit for royalty!
This wedding was for only two – just bride and groom – the epitome of romance if you ask me! Natelee raved about Imogen’s “Show-White” look and all the vintage detail that went into this very small wedding.
Imogen & Savvas met in Cape Town and come back every Christmas for holiday. The previous Christmas he proposed here. As this was such a special and romantic place for them, they wanted to keep it that way when they got married – Just the two of them, the way it all started.
After the very intimate ceremony the couple photos was done with accompanying musicians that followed them, playing relaxed Classical music – like something out of a movie! This was followed by dinner and a surprise wedding cake, baked by La Residence. It was the smallest wedding cake ever…very cute!
The romantic trip, that started with a week holiday (before the wedding) in South Africa ended with a fantastic honeymoon on Azura Benguerra Island. Back on home soil in the UK Imogen & Savvas had a fantastic wedding-party with close family and friends. I must say doing it this way appeals to me big time… Not only do you share every moment with your only love, but you also save a small fortune in having to cater for a host of guests in a foreign country.
