Since 2005, I have probably shot over 200 weddings, so you would imagine that I can do any wedding photography job with my eyes closed… Yip, that’s true for most, but not for this one! Annerien’s wedding at Kaleo in Ceres had me as jittery and nervous as I was with my very first wedding!
Annerien is my most long standing employee at ZaraZoo. She’s been with us since 2007 and has helped build our business here in South Africa. If you’ve worked in the wedding industry for as long as she has, you see many many weddings, dresses and ideas – so needless to say that she had a very spesific idea of what she wanted with the photos – and boy, she made it very clear to me what she wanted and what she did not.
If you want to blame age for my greyness and receding hairline, think again! Many sleepless, anti-depressant medication and exorbitant psychologist bills – jip – this one had me stressed! It’s never easy photographing a good friend – I guess it is the fear of failing with the photos and then also messing up a good friendship – I’m only human hahaha…
It was my first wedding at Kaleo in Ceres, or should I rather say near Ceres. This venue is located in the heart of the “Koue Bokkeveld” – semi Karoo – what a beautiful landscape. Kaleo is relatively new, but I predict that this spot will become a very popular destination wedding venue in the years to come. It’s spacious and versatile – can be extended by stretch tent if you have a really big guest list – has the option of an outdoor dance floor and so much more. It even has a purpose built chapel!
But what appeals the most was the option for guests to camp on site. The fully equipped camp site and cottages meant the guests at Annerien and Andro’s wedding did not have to worry about driving home after partying the night away!
Annerien, I really hope that this set lives up to your high standards! lol
