Nikki & Andrew’s wedding at Brenaissance was only the 2nd one I have covered at this awesome Stellenbosch venue. From the outset Niki explained that in her family nothing happens without a commotion and drama and that the wedding was bound to be full of dramatic statements and totally OTT. So to pull this off, she got the king of OTT, the very creative Otto de Jager to coordinate the wedding.
The plus point of having a wedding at Brenaissance is that the bridal suite is on site, literally a stones throw away from the Rose Cafe, the amazing ceremony space with large paned windows overlooking orchards, vineyards and the lovely Stellenbosch mountains. In true Otto style the floor of the “chapel” was covered with a layer of autumn leaves and the chandeliers dressed with greenery. With the reception Otto’s creativity swung into full geat. The venue was totally transformed – to describe it – I don’t think I can! Palm tree flowers, aloe shoots, chandeliers lying around on the floor and on chairs (not hanging), chairs on tables, single autunm leaves suspended with fishing line all over, again autumn leaves scattered on the floor, ripped hessian hanging from the ceiling – to put a name of this style of decor is impossible! Check it out below – Its just too much to describe.
So at Brenaisance everything is in one place – which means you do not have to wast half your wedding day in traveling between guest house, ceremony and reception venue – I’d urge all my brides to book all-in-one venues like this as it just alleviates so much stress with the travel arrangements – and off-course it makes our lives as wedding photographers much much easier.
It was only my second wedding at Brenaissance and strangely both were in the colder and wetter months. Well even though it was winter, this estate is notthing short of beautiful photo spots at all. On the grounds itself you have expansive vineyards and orchards to work with and then you can also take drive up the hill to experience stunning panorama of the Stellenbosch valleys and mountains from the top. All in all Brenaissance is really a very convenient choice that is definitely one of our most versatile wedding venues in Cape Town.
