Wedding at Brenaissance
Christiaan & Tieneke’s wedding at Brenaissance is the 4th we’ve covered at this awesome Stellenbosch Wedding Venue. Brenaissance is one of our Top 10 Wedding Venues in the Western Cape.
After 11 years together their dream to get married in the Cape Winelands finally became a reality. Born and bred in the Karoo, Chrisitaan & Tieneke met at the Klein Karoo Nationale Kunstefees when Christiaan boldly came up to Tieneke to complement her on her beautiful legs and vowed that he will kiss her one day.
Brenaissance with its black and white theme and classic crystal chandeliers, large mirrors, quaint chapel and accommodation on site was a perfect match for what they had in mind for their wedding. The main reception hall and chapel comfortably accommodated their 134 guests and their closest family and friends could stay over on site to enjoy the party with them to its full.
The bridal suite at Brenaissance is not only very stylishly decorated, but also very conveniently situated just 50m from the chapel – so no need to bump up costs with a wedding car for transport to the ceremony. On the day Tieneke wore an elegant Elizabeth Stockenstrom Ivory, Spanish embroidered trumpet fit lace dress. For the ceremony she wore a detachable bolero with lace cut-outs hand embroidered onto, which was removed for the reception. The whole look was perfectly finished off with a pair of sparkly Louboutin shoes. Christiaan was dressed very handsomely in black suit and bow tie with suspenders under the jacket.
After the ceremony guests were treated to canapé’s that also doubled up as the starter. Waiters served butternut & feta tarts, vegetable spring rolls, fried prawns, mini-hamburgers, meatballs, calamari & fries in cones and pizza. Then there were tables with cheese platters and figs, fresh fruit, nuts, biltong, salmon mouse and different kinds of bread on. The waiters also served ice-cream in cones to the children. The lush rolling lawn next to the little stream was the absolute perfect setting for guests to wait and enjoy the food with the couple away on their photo shoot.
The reception was nothing short of a fairytale with traditional “boere kos” as the main course. Leg of lamb with gravy, chicken pie with mushroom sauce, smoked pork with mustard sauce, pink quince, roast potatoes, pumpkin fritters, seasonal baby vegetables and salad. For the desert, red velvet wedding cake with real Italian ice-cream from il lecca gelato, amarula and vanilla flavoured with sugar cones. The first dance was a true Holywood moment with bride and groom dancing on the chequered floor – deeply in love and extremely happy. One of the best weddings I covered this year.
