Spring Wedding Styled Photo Shoot
PicardiPlace, Rawsonville
PicardiPlace near Rawsonville, a stunning new rustic wedding venue in the Winelands, was the location for the Spring Styled Photo Shoot we did for Pink Book Weddings last week. What a stunning day in the peach orchards with blossoms and crisp clean spring air!
Us photographers absolutely love styled shoots it gives us a chance to bring out our creativity and have fun – try new things & styles, see new places and to create new friendships and alliances with other wedding suppliers.

Spring Wedding Inspiration
Spring Colours and Blossoms
This time around, we worked with the very talented permaculturist and landscape architect Jaco Brand. He owns one of the best-kept secrets of the Winelands, a wedding venue called PicardiPlace. Jaco built PicardiPlace from the ground up. It is now taken up in the Pink Book list of top suppliers and hosts intimate indoor weddings. The venue offers a beautifully rustic restored barn, as well as outdoor tented weddings. What makes a wedding at this venue so unique is that all the vegetables and salad served at weddings come from Jaco’s Permaculture garden. Read more about this fantastic organic way of growing food.
PicardiPlace is also the home of antique and restored furniture and coffee shop, TUKA. Do yourself a favour when you pass through the Slanghoek valley and stop for a hot cappuccino while browsing through all the old and rustic tables, chairs and goods they stock – a gem of its own!
Wooden, Vintage Decor
For the vintage look we aimed for, Jaco used some of TUKA’s furniture, cutlery and crockery and rounded off the theme with the beautiful antique crystal glass set, borrowed from a very special “Tannie” from the farm next door. The setting for the photo shoot was a blossoming peach orchard, a stone’s throw from the venue itself.
Our beautiful model for the shoot was the gorgeous and very experienced, former FHM swimsuit model, Rouxmia Bougas. The bridal look we strived for, was one that showed the characteristics of spring – flowing, free and natural. Rouxmia pulled this off beautifully! We sourced two dresses, one for Janita Toerien Wedding Gowns and the other from Forever New. The hair & Make-up was done by Almari van der Merwe and floral crowns and bouquet by Detail me Pretty.
A very big thank you to a fantastic team and talented suppliers who worked with us on this spring wedding shoot. We look forward to working together again!
