Red Ivory Lodge Wedding

Mpho & Lets

One of our last weddings of the season was Mpho & Lets’ wedding at Red Ivory Lodge.

It was yet another foreign affair, with bride, groom and 130 guests jetting in from Botswana to celebrate on South African soil.  Their choice of venue could not be better!  Red Ivory is an all-in-one venue with preparation facilities for both bridal and gooms parties, Chapel and reception venue.  Everything can happen in one place, so no need to waste time by traveling between venues on the day.

Mpho looked like a princess!  She had her Haute Couture wedding gown specially designed by celebrity designer Gert Johan Coetzee. He used intricate off-white lace, pearls and Swarovski crystals.  The dress was complemented by a blush rose & hydrangea bouquet. The bridesmaids wore mint evening gowns coupled with blush pink hydrangea bouquets.

Lets looked dashing in his Sinatra inspired suit from Hugo Boss – rounded off with a white-rose pocket square. The groomsmen were outfitted in navy blue suits with a hint of mint (Pocket squares) paired with brown shoes and happy socks.

The Theme in Mpho’s own words:

It was a Romantic Parisian Affair. Paris is the city of love and we wanted love around us. Theme colors were white, blush pink, mint, and ivory. I love flowers that’s why they were so many especially the flower wall that was reminiscent of the fresh flowers in the French countryside. The menu was also French cuisine. Wedding favors were blush pink and mint French style macaroons.

We had one minor hickup on the day due to Load shedding at the hair salon. Who would have thought that word would ever creep into our blog posts!  It meant that the whole day was delayed (No-one wants to attend a wedding without the perfect hair!!!).  The delay meant that by the time we had to do the couple photos, the sun was already set, so we had to work with the available light indoors.  I think our two photographers did a stunning job, despite the setback!  Shame on you ESKOM!!!

The rest of the evening luckily went seamless, with a very in-love couple partying the night away with their closest friends and family.
