There are plenty of ceremony options to offer.  For an outdoor setting, you can choose from the terrace leading down to the polo field.  It is flanked by huge ponds on each side and the slope means all your guests have a good view of the proceedings.  Another option is the raised Polo deck on the side of the Polo Field – If you want to get married “up in the air” this should be your choice.  But my favourite outdoor ceremony option at Lourensford must be the setting in the middle of the tree-lined lane.  More romantic than this you cannot get! Just imagine walking down that lane to see your groom standing on the side of the “tunnel”.

For less favourable weather, the veranda can be utilised.  It is partly covered by a glass roof, a clever piece of architecture that will prevent you getting wet, but still lets the natural light through.  If you want to get married in a church, here are a few to choose from in Somerset West:

• Anglican – All Saints 
• Dutch Reformed – Helderberg NGK

Photo opportunities are plentiful – Lourensford is the proverbial “photographer’s dream”!  The estate offers a fusion of historic Cape Dutch architecture and modern style buildings and the 4000 hectare Estate riddled with an array of fields, fruit tree orchards, vineyards, pine forests, gardens and dams.  My favourite spot is next to the lake and pine forest.  If you catch the light right here, it is transformed into a magical fairytale setting – see some of the couple photos taken there above.  From that setting you can also see the whole of False Bay and the surrounding Hottentots-Holland mountains.
