La Residence – Franschhoek

Jennifer & David’s intimate wedding at La Residence is the 4th we have covered at this fantastic 5-star boutique hotel in Franschhoek. The couple, from the UK traded grey skies for the african sun and brought their close family and friends to South Africa to get a bright start to their new life together. Bride and Groom both got ready at La Residence.  In total, the hotel consists of 16 luxury rooms, sleeping a maximum of 32 guests.

The Jewish ceremony was done outdoors on the lawn that overlooks the vineyards and olive groves that lie at the foot of the Franschhoek mountains at the edge of the estate. After the formalities David made sure the celebrations start with a bang when he executed a perfect sabrage of a bottle of Dom Perignon 2004.Guest enjoyed canapé’s and drinks on the veranda of the main reception while the couple took off for a few wedding photos on the Estate.

From a photographers point of view, La Residence has such a lot to work with.  It boasts with stunning views of the Franschhoek valley, a beautiful lake at the bottom of the terrace and then those classic chequered floors and richly decorated interior.

The evening events started in style when guests sat down for a 3-course meal at the long table under antique Indian crystal chandeliers in the main reception. This was followed by Jewish dancing and the night concluded with a stunning fire show by Firetribe.  All in all a very stylish wedding for a very stylish couple!
