Traveling  all the way from Cape Town to Graaff-Reinet for a Karoo wedding….  Madness I know!!  But it was worth every bit of the 16 hours it took us to travel there and back.

The setup at Samara Game Reserve was massive – truckloads of tents, catering equipment, decor and food was shipped in, all the way from Bredasdorp, to cater for 200 guests in the middle of nowhere – nothing short of a feat for destination wedding coordinators Antoinettes Events.  Apart from the stunning Manor Lodge at Samara there was literally nothing when they started – the end result…. a stunning world class wedding that competes with the best we have covered to date!

The wedding itself was preceded by a cricket day at neighboring game farm eSante Sana  – odd – yes very odd!  Check this out below – a cricket pitch smack bam in the middle of the Karoo!  All the none, this social cricket day & spit braai made coming out to Graaff-Reinet absolutely worth it!

PS.  Next time we’ll travel with a satellite phone – that might save us from being stranded in a car at night for 5 hours!
