The story of Delmarie and Alessandro is a real-life fairytale! Alessandro flies big planes. He is as Emirates Airline Pilot. Delmarie is an air stewardess. So what happens when you put a beautiful air hostess with a handsome pilot in a confined space, 40 000 feet in the air?… Well, I suppose it is the perfect recipe for romance!
Molenvliet Estate in Stellenbosch was the chosen venue. What a stunning idea for this young man from Italy to marry his sweet heart from South Africa. Molenvliet never ceases to amaze me and their wedding day was one of the most perfect summer days of this season so far. Delmarie got ready in the Manor House on the hill and Alessandro got ready in the newly built Mountain View Suites. These new suites are amazing. Apart from the view over the vineyards and Franschhoek mountains, each of the 6 also have their own wood powered jacuzzi on the patio!
The ceremony took place on the new rooftop lawn that was built on top of the Mountain View suites. This new additional to the already popular Molenvliet Estate, means that the venue can now accommodate 40 guests on site!!! So you can party, party, party and do not have to worry about taking to the roads to get home afterwards. This makes it the perfect venue if you are planning to get married in South Africa.
After the ceremony, guests strolled down to the reception venue. Halfway there, they experienced a surprise. Our couple had arranged for two tame cheetahs to be brought to the venue so guests could get the real African experience. Taking photos with the cats proved a bit tricky – these kitties are just too curious!
All the couple photos were taken on site – Delmarie and Alessandro are naturals at romance. I think we got some killer shots! By the way, this was one of the first weddings where we offered our clients an add-on highlights video. As we shot photos on the day, we also covered some video clips – just enough to make a nice summary clip of the day. We’ve added the video into this post. Let us know what you think?
Canapés were served in the courtyard next to the venue. Wow, what a spread! The caterers, Two Chefs dazzled us with very tasty finger food. To cater to the taste buds of the Italian guests, they created a Mediterranean food station with a variety of cheeses, cold meats and preserves. Yum!
At the reception, guests were further treated to amazing food and drinks and they enjoyed themselves to the fullest. What a party it was!
