When Bruno contacted me to do their Boschendal Wedding Photos, I was over the moon.  We’ve worked at Boschendal before, but not since they’ve added the new Olive Press Venue and this was our chance to shoot at one of the top wedding venues in the Cape Winelands.

Boschendal Wedding Photos

Bruno and Barbara, both world class triathletes from Austria, wanted to combine their wedding with a holiday in Africa and the Cape Winelands was on top of their list.  They got in contact with Niki of The Event Planners and when she suggested Boschendal they wasted no time to look for other wedding venues.  Boschendal is our number 6 in our Top 10 Wedding Venues in Cape Town and surrounds.  It is such a versatile estate, with a plethora of options and different wedding venues.

The well known Olive Press was just too big for the small wedding party of 16, so they opted to have the reception in the more intimate Die Werf Restaurant on the estate.  The Event Planners team worked with Nico of N Concepts to create a long table with suspended foliage and naked bulbs and our couple loved it!

Both bride and groom got ready on the estate, each in one of Die Werf cottages that is just a stones throw from the meadow that overlooks the majestic Drakenstein mountains. It was a cloudy and rainy day, so to minimise risk, a stretch tent was erected over the outdoor ceremony setting for shelter against the wind and rain.

After the ceremony, our couple and guests enjoyed canapés on the veranda of The Olive Press.  All the couple photos were taken on the estate.  Boschendal has so much to work with!  One of my favourite settings for Boschendal Wedding Photos is the poplar forest right next to the venue that give a mystic fairytale feel.  Bruno and Barbara was such a friendly and willing couple to work with. With intimate weddings one has so much time to get more stunning photos.  Small groups are definitely the way to go.

The Reception – Die Werf Restaurant

At the reception the guests were treated to the finest cuisine, prepared by the chefs of Die Werf Restaurant, all while sipping away at some of Boschendal’s most prized vintage wines.  The talented Werner Denner (Man with Music) entertained guests throughout with his saxophone and later on moved in behind the DJ box to churn out all the hits that made our guests party deep into the night.

This intimate wedding was so special and hopefully one of many opportunities we’ll have to cover Boschendal Wedding Photos!  Bruno & Barbara, we love your energy and we hope you are happy with the way we captured your special day!
