Shooting Lori & Kobus’s wedding did not feel like work at all – it felt more like snapping at a good friend’s wedding. I must also add that the wedding happened at the super relaxed Standkombuis in Yzerfontein – how can you not feel chilled when you’ve got waves breaking in the background and sea sand under your feet!
It was also the first time my very creative sister, Anneke, assisted me. Before this day she’s never handled a SLR camera, but what an amazing natural talent for taking photos she has! So much so that 5 of her photos made the blog post! You go girl!

Strandkombuis is the perfect venue for a beach wedding. Have a romantic beach ceremony and then watch the sunset over the sea with a cocktail in hand before you head up the dune to a very rustic, yet cosy west coast “kuier plek”. The set menu is a feast in its own right – snoek, mussels, calamari, home made bread and jam and plenty more seafood traditional dishes! Visit the Strandkombuis website for more information.
