Matjiesfontein Wedding – Cillie & Nicole

Matjiesfontein is a small little railway town in the Karoo where time has stood still for the last 100 years! It was established in the late 1800’s by an Englishman as a stop-over on route to the diamond mines of Kimberley. Today it’s more like a living museum of yesteryear – the ideal venue to host a destination wedding.
When Cillie & Nicole planned their wedding, they dreamed of an unforgettable wedding experience with guests celebrating with them for the whole weekend. So, they got everyone to meet up in Johannesburg for a day-long journey by train to Matjiesfontein! What an awesome idea to get the spirits up!

Matjiesfontein railway station is one of the last stops on the Rovos Rail route from Pretoria to Cape Town. Lucky for us, the Rovos stopped over here at Matjiesfontein at the same time we did the couple photo shoot! Thanks for the mobile Setting Mr Roan Vos! The Rovos Rail is s luxury, 5-star train that runs on several routes in South Africa and even all the way up to Victoria Falls, Tanzania and Cairo!

Ek wens ek kon een keer saam met jou op ‘n shoot wees, ek weet nie hoe jy dit regkry om die mense se facial expressions so vas te vang nie! Ek verkyk my altyd daaraan!

Truly stunning photos! Really such beautiful memory shots for many years to come. The photo in the train is my favourite, so isolated and magical. Congratulations on a wonderful shoot.
