Don’t be fooled by their names. This was far from the traditional Afrikaans wedding you would expect. Anna is from the Ukraine and you can think of Dirk as the evolved “Boerseun” that now runs a successful business and drives a top notch sports car.
Tomorrow I will be shooting a TTD (Trash the Dress) session on the beach – Talk about being inspired!

The girls from the Ukraine are somewhat different to our local South African beauties. These girls are aware of their sensuality and not afraid to show it off. They are stylish, sophisticated and elegant – just have a look at their shoes – those stilettos will pierce a hole through any man’s facade!
The preps was done at La Provence (Stellenbosch), just around the corner from the wedding venue, Kanu (Wine Farm). This venue is set in the most amazing rolling hills, with the Stellenbosch mountains as backdrop. Despite the very overcast conditions, the ceremony was held on the island (in the middle of the pond)
The “Dominee” had his moments of doubt… about the weather off course. But after a few lost drops came down, it stopped and the sun came out. The clouds actually made an awesome backdrop – a change to the usual blue skies this time of the year.
Those eyes kan kill I think… This shot below is my favourite of the day. Anna is a natural. She needed no direction from my side – Every pose struck ca me without me prompting her.
Dirk’s Sister, Madelain, coordinated the event… Madelain, I think your services will be in demand after this one! The decor was done by Phrosne Ras. And the food – done inhouse by Kanu – They do the most delicious leg of lamb – thanks Nerine!
