In memory of Berton Bosman

I did not know Berton Bosman very well.  What I do know is that in my short dealings with him as a groom, he made a lasting impression on me.

I had the honour to photograph this inspiring man and his wife Catherine on two occasions, one being their very fun wedding at the end of 2011.  This couple showed me what it really means to be in love.  They made a point of it to have fun with their every experience.  See the photo at the bottom of them cutting the cake in a very unconventional way.

Berton Bosman died on Sunday whilst competing in the Ironman 70.3 triathlon in East-London.

Catherine and family I am so sorry for your loss – my heart was heavy when I read the news last night.  It is really not fair that such a vibrant, fun loving man was taken away from you.  But know this…  Humble, full of smiles, unpretentious and full of contagious energy – he helped me to have a more positive outlook on life, and that in the very short time of not even a full day I spent with you two.

R.I.P Berton Bosman.
