Fresh Wedding Ideas – Molenvliet

Fresh Wedding Ideas – Molenvliet

Think fresh wedding ideas… well, this whole wedding basically falls in that category!  Cisco & Lani’s wedding at Molenvliet was something totally different to anything that I have done before!

For a start, the reception had no formal tables and seating, instead they opted for lounge pockets that gave the whole wedding more of a “top-end club” look and feel.  Sven of W.Collaboration is an absolute wizard when it comes to dreaming up new ideas and concepts… Each lounge pocket was different to the next.  Very unique furniture with a rustic, earthy feel.

The decor was done by the very creative team of Okasie.  They have so many fresh wedding ideas; plenty of them shown off at this wedding.  Tables were draped with specially cultivated moss strips, trees of 4 meters high were uprooted and ball-bound with hessian, then installed; not to mention the hundreds of Joseph lily’s that was ceiling-draped!  There is too much detail to mention, best you have a look through the photos yourself.

Another of their fresh wedding ideas was to have a street festival on the road in the middle of the vineyards.  This was to be the halfway house where guests were entertained by the Zamar Music and treated to eats and canape’s including the roaming oyster men of The Oyster King.  Again, I have to commend the W.Collaboration team for pulling off a very original concept with fantastic decor and entertainment.

For the men, the day started off at Mr Cobbs, an original English “cut-throat” shaving shop, based in the V&A Waterfront.  Some of the boys sported month-old beards, grown especially to get them trimmed by the professional barbers…  Who said men can’t be pampered!

From there we moved to the “Residence” Molenvliet Manor house where Lani and her 5 bridesmaids did their preparations.  This house is absolutely stunning with a view that is hard to beat.  From the pool balcony, you have the most amazing vista over the vineyards below and the impressive Franschhoek Mountains towering in the distance.

The groom and his following did their preps at the River Manor that was totally refurbished recently.  I must say, the accommodation at Molenvliet is top-notch!

The ceremony was conducted on the lawn at the administration building; another spot with an amazing view and setting.  After the ceremony, guests walked down the hill to the street festival, lead by the violinists and the married couple.

Talking about fresh wedding ideas…  no formal seating for guests!!!! – quite risky you might think, but it proved to be the perfect setup for this crowd.  Apart from a few loose speeches, the evening was very informal, with waiters continuously serving an array of different canape’s and guests dancing and partying the night away

This was a lovely wedding to be part of!   Thank you Cisco & Lani for your trust in us and for being such an awesome couple to work with!

If you are looking for a very competent and creative wedding coordination team, look no further.  I’ll recommend W.Collaboration any day.  Not only do they deliver a efficient and affordable service, but they’re also a hell of a nice bunch of people to work with!  Sven you guys are fantastic!
