Johan & Deborah booked out the whole Vrede en Lust for friends and family to enjoy a “Wedding Weekend” in the Cape Winelands.  It was the perfect day, clear blue skies, no wind and hot! Despite the 32 degrees Celsius, they were up for everything!

We got the most awesome shots of them in the wheat fields, with the blue Franschhoek mountains in the background.  The one below is my favourite.

Deborah got ready in the very modern main suite of the manor house, and Johan in one of the cottages.  I tried something different with this shot of the shoes on the thatch roof.  It think it worked…. What do you think?

The ceremony was held on the lawn behind the pool house.  This spot has an amazing view of the vineyards and mountains.  Johan’s Uncle conducted the ceremony.

I always make sure that I scout the venue for good photo spots.  I do that either when I meet the couple at the venue or I make sure I arrive an hour early on the day to have a good walk around.

I found this spot, a little bit away from the main manor house, in a grassy wheat field.

…and off course, a Scottish wedding is not complete without the piper.  In true tradition, this guy downed a glass of whiskey (clean) when he finished his stint – “Ek dog die dop stelsel is verban?”

Andre took this shot from the hip as we walked back to the Vineyard Terrace after the photo session.  I love it – this is so true to the style of ZaraZoo…
