It takes a bit of guts to hang out of the window of a moving train… It takes a bit of guts to run along the top of a train and jump from one truck to the other. And it takes a bit of grit to do your E-session on an abandoned, derelict runaway train!
But if you meet this gritty and gutsy couple, Nelia & Jason, it all makes sense! Can’t wait to shoot their wedding at Molenvliet at the end of the month!

Although Wikus & Adre live in Jozi, they always wanted to get married in the Western Cape. Blomstoor near Betty’s Bay, was the perfect venue for them – a place where they could stroll barefoot on the beach for the photo session and have a jol with their friends later on. The wedding was coordinated by Antoinette’s Events.

Jacques and Mareza got married at the 12 Apostles Hotel & Spa near Camps Bay. This luxury wedding venue must have one of the best settings in South Africa – perfect blue water of the Atlantic ocean with enormous boulders scattered along the coastline – all this with the 12 peaks of the Table Mountain range right next to it! As a wedding photographer in South Africa, one can easily become numb these spectacular settings – but this wedding made me appreciate it again!
Perfect summers day with a bit of a breeze to cool us down. Perfect couple with a lot of love and a lot of zest for life! Guys you looked fabulous!

February started with a fast pace for ZaraZoo. We covered weddings on the 4th, the 6th, the 10th and the 13th! So please accept our apologies for being a bit slow with the blog posts.
Alicia and Winston’s wedding at Morgenhof was coordinated by Wedding Concepts. I must say that I was very impressed with the way these guys vamped up Morgenhof – a venue that has certainly stepped up in the last few years! The perfectly manicured rose garden at the back of the venue was dressed with custom made white garden furniture from FOCI. The traditional wine cellar was fused with modern square dining tables and specially made wall canvasses to give it a sophisticated look and feel – after all… it was a black tie event!

Janet & Charles currently live in London, but decided to head back home to tie the knot here in South Africa. The ceremony was conducted at Wynberg Methodist Church and the reception at Kelvin Grove Members Club in Cape Town.

Angela & Matt’s wedding was one of the two weddings Andre and myself covered on New Years Eve. This one was held at the amazing Molenvliet Wine Estate in the Banhoek valley near Stellenbosch. It must be one of the top venues in the Western Cape at the moment. The wedding was coordinated by Timeless Weddings.
Matt and the boys got it spot on with their styling! – the combination of the tan shoes and red socks is fresh and ultra modern – Enjoy the photos!

Cillie and Nicole will tie the knot in Matjiesfontein in March. The whole wedding party will travel down from Jozi on the train to Matjiesfontein and take over the whole town for the weekend – sounds awesome! For their E-session Cillie suggested go up to the Taal Monument in Paarl – funky & different – the architecture allows for so much to play with – Andre had a ball!

I love my job… even if it means sweating bucket loads in 38 degrees Celcius!
Anton & Annette got married at Morgansvlei in Tulbagh on an absolute perfect summers day. This wedding felt more like attending the celebration of good friends, than working! Well done for the perfect planning and throwing an excellent party!
I must highlight the talented Jazz / Blues duo of Gerald Clark & mate that performed during the pre-drinks – what a brilliant voice and cool hairstyle. If anyone has Gerald’s phone number, please leave a comment below.

Mareza & Jacques is getting married tomorrow at the 12 Apostles Hotel & Spa close to Camps Bay. From the very first time I met this attractive couple, I got along with them – so I’m extremely excited to finally cover their wedding tomorrow. Furthermore, will I have a very qualified assistant in Dave Strydom that runs a very successful photography business, 2Become1 Studio in Cansas in the United States. Can’t wait to work with you for the first time Dave!
This E-session was done at Rhebokskloof near Paarl. One thing that struck me was the patchy feathered clouds. Enjoy the photos!

BA & Jhana’s wedding at Rhebokskloof Wine Estate was our first for 2010 – and what a way to start the new year! Rhebokskloof is a unique venue with a mix of old Cape Dutch and modern architecture – beautiful grounds and dams and a very spacious reception area.
The wedding had a vintage theme with the groom and his entourage in character with hats and suspenders and the bridal party arriving in style on horse and carriage. The temperature clocked in at 38 degree that day – so I’ve got to commend the bride and groom for keeping cool and making such great pics!
