Funky Couple Photos

Kalk Bay – This rustic little town on False Bay oozes character – an active fishing community & harbour buzzing with interesting locals – lazy make-you-feel-happy coffee shops scattered along the main road and a horde of second-hand shops that attract bargain hunters and tourists.

Also the town that suits Sheri & Andrew’s bubbly personalities – perfect for their pre-wedding photos.

We started their engagement shoot at Cape to Cuba – what an awesome spot! If you have not had a Mojito outside in their “cocktail garden” then you have not experienced Kalk Bay to its full! From there we criss-crossed along the harbour wall, under the arched railway bridge next to the beach and then onto the main road for a few more funky shots.

Nooitgedacht in Stellenbosch is still one of my favourite wedding venues – Come mid December and I’ll have the opportunity to work this awesome wine farm again with Andre & Annabelle’s wedding.

For their pre wedding shoot we “borrowed” the amazing grounds of the Mount Nelson Hotel in Cape Town – hope they don’t mind. Lets just call it venue scouting as I’ll be covering a wedding there this coming Friday.

Just love the “Mid summer night’s dream” swing in the garden – definitely the best set of this shoot. Guess where I’m taking my bride and groom for their couple photos….

Strand Beach Couple Photos

My job as a Cape Town Photographer must be one of the most fulfilling out there! I get to work with happy, smiley people; shoot at the most amazing locations and give outing to my creative juices on a daily basis – man this job does not feel like work!!!

Just take Ope & Abe’s E-session at the beach at Strand – these two were an absolute joy to work with – then the location – I bet you most people look upon my “office” with envy! And now that I have edited and blogged the photos I have a feeling of content and satisfaction; for I have created something lasting – a positive addition to this world!

As part of our Platinum Wedding Photography Package, we include a pre-wedding photo shoot – called an E-session. Why??? Well, we believe that this shoot not only helps you to get used to the camera, but it also helps us to get to know you better – and off course see which angles make you look best!! Lorries & Lillies

Man, I want to go back to this place to do a fashion shoot or something! Industrial – Not the most natural environment to do an E-session at, but it certainly makes a statement! The location (a secret for security reasons) was the brainchild of Hans Roosenschoon. We’ll be covering Hans & Babette’s wedding in little over a week – believe me… this is one of the most anticipated weddings of the year!

But it was not all grit and grease – after this “manly” setting, we moved on to a more “girly” forest spot – definitely more in line with the romantic feel we are normally after when it comes to E-sessions. Never the less – Hans & Babette, you now literally have the best of both worlds!

Cape Town Couple session

Cape Town has so much to offer when it comes to photo locations. With Marisa & Casidy’s E-session, we started off at the V& A Waterfront and ended up at the very rustic Power Boat Club for some awesome fashion-statement shots. This could not have been achieved without our brand new toy… the Elinchrom Ranger Quadra portable flash system!

Included in all our packages, is a pre-wedding photo session. This shoot is designed to help us getting used to each other and will also calm those nerves when you are in front of the camera on the wedding day! Contact us for our package details.

Blowfish E-session – Take 3

If you want spectacular Table Mountain as a backdrop, then there is no better spot than the stretch of beach at Blowfish Restaurant in Blouberg.

But be warned…. this place is not called BLOWfish without a reason! When the Cape Doctor blows, an E-session here is a no go! For this one, the wind gods luckily looked upon us with favour…. and then our couple, Jorik & Sune was great fun too!

Our Platinum Wedding package includes a pre-wedding shoot (we call it an E-session). With this photo shoot you get opportunity to calm those in-front-of-the-camera jitters when you see how we go about doing our job. After doing this session, you will also be more relaxed when the time comes to do those wedding day photos. It just makes sense to “Practice” a bit of posing beforehand…

E-session in Greece

Dimitri & Deanna’s E-session in Skiathos was the start of an amazing time in Greece for Niki and myself. Part work, part holiday, but most of all, a realisation of what life can be!

The beautiful old town of Skiathos is the perfect example of a Greek seaside village – no wonder the harbour was chosen for the arrival scene in the Hollywood movie Mama Mia. What a feast to take photos in such a quaint and historic setting – actually too much to choose from – very easy to bomb out from total sensory overload! hahaha

Playful Promenade!

When we origin al ly discussed their engagement shoot we were preparing for a wintery shoot, as July was the only time Le-Anne & Darnel would be in Cape Town before their wedding. But alas Summer has come early and we were blessed with blue skies and a warm breeze.

The Sea Point Promenade offers so much inspiration and is always a feast for the eyes.
