We first shot at the Wijnlands Auto Museum with Maxi & Chris’s Trash the Dress – since then I have fallen in love with this place – so many options and plenty of props to stir up those creative juices. Sara & Mark moved back from the UK about a month ago and they got married in Riebeek Kasteel at the Royal Hotel 3 weeks ago. Tomorrow I will post their wedding pics, so keep an eye on the blog!

I bet most of you have seen the movie, Invictus, with Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon… In this movie, we are reminded of the moment when the huge Boeing 747 flew very low over Ellis Park with the 1995 Rugby World Cup opening game in South Africa. Well, the man that piloted that plane is none other than Megan’s dad! Interresting stories like these are part of the reason that being a professional photographer is such an amazing job.
Furthermore, Megan & Stephan have both played tennis for South Africa and Megan’s mom represented South Africa at Wimbledon! You can just imagine the genes that their kids will have!
But to come to the point of this post… The E-session is normally done to help people feel more comfortable in front of the camera. But it can also serve other purposes. 80% of couples doing a pre-wedding shoot with us, end up using the photos at their wedding in some or other way. Some print canvasses with white borders so that people can write messages on the side. Others include these informal photos in their guest books. Megan and Stephan had the idea to use their Engagement shoot photos as table number indicators. So Andre took them to the Bo-Kaap to to their E-session, with just this in mind. A brilliant idea! – what do you think?

It takes a bit of guts to hang out of the window of a moving train… It takes a bit of guts to run along the top of a train and jump from one truck to the other. And it takes a bit of grit to do your E-session on an abandoned, derelict runaway train!
But if you meet this gritty and gutsy couple, Nelia & Jason, it all makes sense! Can’t wait to shoot their wedding at Molenvliet at the end of the month!

When Danie, the lead singer of the alternative rock band, Black Market Riots, approached us to shoot his wedding in March, we were over the moon – not only because these two are so such funky individuals, but also because we knew that this wedding would be something totally different and inspiring!
Now put two creative wack heads in Woodstock and watch the originality unfold! – One of our all time Best E-sessions!
The wedding is taking place at South Hill Wine Estate in Elgin. – I cannot wait! Subscribe to our Blog and we will notify you when Danie and Ilene’s Wedding photos are posted.

I met up with Ali & Steve at the Blowfish Restaurant in Blouberg last week for their pre-wedding shoot – and did the South Easter blow! This stretch of beach has one of the best views of Table Mountain… but is also a favourite spot for kite surfers… And with the wind blowing a gale, this was ideal conditions for the kite surfing guys! When I got there, the sky and beach was riddled with colourful kites – very pretty, but it left no space for us to do our thing. So instead we had a Mojito at the Blowfish and when 30 minutes later most of them had left, we took our gap.
Ali & Steve got married at Diemersfontein Wine Estate near Wellington on New Years Eve. I’ll be posting their wedding photos early next week. Subscribe to our RSS feed to be notified of this post.

Over the last 10 years Woodstock (Cape Town) has been gradually transformed to the new hot spot for designers, artists and trendy shops and businesses. But despite the influx, it has kept its charm – In many ways this area reminds me of Camden Town in London. For a photographer, Woodstock lends so many opportunities and interesting streets, allies and people to work with – I predict that this is only my first of many shoots in this “Funky Town” – The perfect spot for an E-session.
Oh… and not to mention the awesome couple Anton and Annette is to work with. I’m so looking forward to their wedding at Morgansvlei near Tulbagh this coming weekend. Subscribe to our RSS feed to be notified when their wedding photos are up on the blog.

With the holidays and crazy December schedule behind us, we are well behind on our blog posts. In the last month, ZaraZoo did no fewer than 8 weddings, 1 Pregnancy and 10 Engagement shoots – most of these still to be posted.
BA & Jhana got engaged at Vergelegen Wine Estate near Somerset West – so it was a fitting choice to head back there for their pre-wedding shoot. This coming weekend they will tie the knot at Rhebokskloof Wine Estate in Paarl – Enjoy!

I met up with Kobus & Lorianne for their pre-wedding shoot in Stellenbosch last week. Even though I studied there and know the place quite well, this was the first time that I had actually done a shoot in the town – unbeleivable! We started off at Cape to Cuba with a cocktail and then went for a romantic stroll next to the Eerste River.
Kobus and Lorianne’s relaxed West Coast Wedding took place last Saturday at Strandkombuis in Yzerfontein - Subscribe to our RSS feed to be notified when we post this on this coming Monday.

For some reason the Blog devils corrupted Rouan & Marinique’s E-session in Kalk Bay we did a few weeks ago. Here it is again.
It was so refreshing and inspiring to walk around this quaint little harbour town while doing the shoot. Rumour has it that up to about 20 years ago, Kalk Bay was a real dump and then the artist community moved in. Nowadays it is totally transformed to a bustling little town with very interesting nooks and crannies and hidden alley ways where you will discover the most interesting clothing boutiques, secondhand stores, art galleries and cosy coffee shops!

Rene & Martine will be getting married next weekend in Elgin at Mofam River Lodge. These two love the outdoors, so they opted for a wedding with a difference. There will be some surprises… I can’t let the cat out of the bag now, but keep your eye on the blog for their wedding photo post around the 18th of November.
It seems like Rene likes the surprise element. He popped the question to Martine in quite an unusual manner. Rene organised for a helicopter to pick them up at Buitenverwachting Wine Estate and then fly over their house in Hout Bay. There, without the knowledge of Martine, he painted “Marry Me” on the roof of their house! So, for their pre-wedding shoot, we returned to Buitenverwachting, a place that is very close to their hearts.
