I’ve never seen a bunch of people so happy to see a cake cut… Well, the whole wedding was actually a very happy affair!

Cascade Manor is a great All-In-One venue… and photographers love that. No traveling means more time for photos and a more relaxed day! Apart from offering various options for the ceremony and reception, guests can also stay over in the Manor House. It can accommodate up to 20 people.
The ceremony was held outdoors at the waterfall. Melanie arrived on a horse and carraige and the couple left in similar fashion – very romantic.. don’t you think. The theme of the day was “A Royal Wedding” and it played out like a fairytale.
In the two photos below, you can see the benefit of having a main photographer and a second shooter at a wedding. These shots were taken at the same time from different angles. I think the 2 shots can be rated equally – but with only one photographer, you would not have two options!!
I love these massive pine trees at the start of the walkway to the waterfall. The sun was great for highlighting the bark, but at the same time, it was quite harsh on Melanie’s face – After a bit of softening in Photoshop the result was quite interesting.
We also shot on the grassy hill just outside the gates of the estate. The low afternoon sun helped us to create a few awesome silhouettes and shadow shots. Cascade Manor really has a lot to work with. The interior of the main building is very stylishly decorated and fitted in well with the royal theme of this wedding. The very prominent roman style pillars and stairs of the “stoep” is also a great feature to work with. I played with the lines of the stairs and made Bertus look like a movie star!
For the reception, a bedouin tent was stretched over the entrace to the Manor House. It looked amazing and created a very intimate setting. The speeches were tear yerkers! These guys are so in love and romantic, it made me feel like a total complacent looser!! You guys rock!
