This coming weekend I am off to Bredasdorp again for my final shoot of the year (Thereza & Leon’s Wedding). I’ve been a bit slack in posting these detail shots of Zoon’s Shop, Bredasdorp Square – Sorry Zoon!

Don’t you think the photo above looks like a miniature table and chairs. I know there is a technique to do this, but we got it right by accident. Cool effect hey! I used the Canon 85mm F1.2 lens here and I think that you need to have a very narrow depth of field to create this effect.
The shop is amazing! To try and classify it would be wrong, because it has so many different products and stuff on the shelves. It definitely has an old french feel to it and the two words that comes to mind is “Class and Style”. Yes that’s it – remember that sound of music song ” Favourite things” – Well that sums it up.
Next time you drive through Bredasdorp, do yourself a favour and stop by Bredasdorp Square for a coffee. Sit on the fabulous old town house stoep and sip a Rooibos Cuppachino or drink a bottle of Champagne in style.
There are so many pretty objects and things in this the shop that you will stay in there for an hour! At the moment they have the most amazing Christmas decorations – just go check it out.
The Coffee shop / Restaurant is equally impressive – I have written about it before. See more about the restaurant.
Below: A photo of an amazing family, Zoon, his mom, brother and sisters. Creative, talented, hard working loving and generous – the perfect recipe for success. Zoon’s sister Sune, has a similar shop in Cape Town CBD called Rhubarb room.
