The Wedding of Thereza and Leon was our forth trip down to Bredasdorp in less than 2 months.
Here are the other posts done about Bredasdorp:
Take 1 – Bredasdorp Square
Take 2 – Wedding of Nikki & Antoni
Take 3 – Bredasdorp Square revisited – detail shots
Take 4 – Wedding of Thereza & Leon
Thereza and her four bridesmaids got ready at the famous Arniston Hotel in Arniston. We had lots of plans to do some shots at the beach and the fisherman’s cottages, but when the time came, it was too gusty and hot out there and we did not want to mess up the girls’ hair!
The ceremony was conducted at the NG Church in Bredasdorp. We shot Niki and Antoni’s wedding in the same church just a month ago, and that helped a lot with positioning.
The shot below was taken from the gallery with the Canon 5D (full frame) and a 15mm wide angle lens. I just love how the shape of the circular benches is accentuated with this lens.
While in the church, the weather changed and when we got out, most of the blue sky was gone and the wind had picked up even more. Again, we had planned to do the couple shots at Arniston beach and again the wind prevented us from making it happen. But we still got some awesome shots when we stopped on the side of the road.
Nachtwacht, where the reception was held, is a very versatile wedding venue. It has huge grounds and plenty of photo opportunities. The canapes and starters were served on the lawn behind the main house. Antoinette’s Caterers had a few braai’s going with fire bread and various sosaties and other finger food. A local Kaapse Klopse band had the banjo’s and guitars going in the background and everyone enjoyed themselves.
ZaraZoo rewrote the record books at this wedding. Apart from Thereza, the bride, 4 other past brides of ours were guests! I just had to get a shot of them all together – See the photo of the 5 brides together.

Arniston is a quaint fisherman’s village close to Cape Agulhas, the most southerly point of Africa.

Love the shot with the guy playing banjo, it can even look good in B&W, but still it is a great image, my favorite!
