I know that quite a few brides are waiting for their wedding photos to be posted – forgive me, but I just have to squeeze this post in!
Six of our photos won awards at last night’s Sony Profoto Awards!!!!! The one at thetop was the best performer – Silver Award in the Wedding Photography category!

Two other photos won a Bronze Award in the Wedding Photography category. They both are shots taken at a wedding I did in London (The Reform Club) last year. Everything about this wedding was great. The couple was awesome, the venue world class and the weather also played along perfectly! You can see more of this wedding in the gallery section on our website.
Apart from winning a few awards in the wedding category, we also got a Bronze Award for the photo below in the Fine Art category. This photo was also taken in London ( Leicester Square). Another Bronze Award was awarded to us in the Documentary section with the “Posh Tramp” photo and another Bronze Award in the Potraiture category with “Pierre of St Tropez” that was shot in St Tropez on the French Riviera!
The Profoto awards is an annual photographic competition organised by the Institute of Professional Photographers of South Africa (PPSA). Sony Alpha sponsored the event and the South African comedian Trevor Noah was the entertainer for the evening. The keynote speaker of the Gala Dinner was Carol Allen Storey, a photojournalist specialising in shooting Aids and woman’s abuse campaigns in Northen Africa.
I am so proud of my fellow Capetonian photographers that also walked away with awards last night. Do your self a favour and have a look at their websites – Cape Town Rocks!!!

Hey guys, it was very cool meeting up with you in Johannesburg for the awards. It was quite an honour sitting with a room full of very talented people. Well done on your awards. Cape Town sure does rock! Jilda (oh by the way I got a silver) LOL
