Molenvliet Wine and Guest Estate’s new wedding venue was a massive hit from the day it first open its doors. Last night, we celebrated one year of amazing weddings at this top wedding and function venue in the Banhoek Valley near Stellenbosch.
I must give it to you Ockie! Within a year you and your team has established Molenvliet firmly as one of the top wedding venues in the Western Cape, if not the country. Well Done!!
Last night also marked the launch of Molenvliet’s brand new MV Label Sauvignon Blanc, a lovely fruity white wine – needless to say, quite a lot of tasting of that wine was done last night
Weddings that Zarazoo has covered at Molenvliet:
1. Kundai & Patrick – the 2nd only wedding at Molenvliet.
2. Nelia & Jason – coordinated by Absolute Weddings.
3. Nicole & Helder

We’ve been looking forward to Andre & Sone’s wedding at Firlane House in Bredasdorp for some time. Sone and her brother Zoon are two of the most creative people I know. So when they teamed up to plan this wedding, it was always going to be something totally different. And what better place to host the wedding than the majestic old colonial Firlane House, one of our Favourite venues in the Western Cape.
Apart from the stunning decor photos in this post, you’ll also find some very cool and funny shots that were taken later that evening with the dance-off competition between Bredasdorp and Napier.
See the post about this wedding on the Rhubarb Room Blog.

Just trust Aleit Wedding & Event Coordination to discover the most spectacular spots in South Africa to get married at! This is just what Mehtap & Paul from Dubai did.
They decided to get married here in SA for its convinience and its natural beauty. Tintswalo is in my opionion Cape Towns best kept secret and is perfect for a personal intimate wedding. It is hidden in the mountain face on Chapmans Peak road. The detailed décor coupled with the breathtaking sea and mountain view was ideal and very romantic!

I’ve driven past this scrap yard ( you can spot it from the N1 hear the Joostenberg exit) a million times and vowed that I would do a shoot there one day – well that day has come!
We covered Maxi & Chris’s 10th Wedding celebration at South Hill Wine Estate last month. When they got back from their awesome Mauritius honeymoon, we made full use of their holiday tans and did a TTD (Trash the Dress) session with them at the Wijnlands Auto Museum. When I saw the cars and them together – one phrase popped up in my mind… Bonnie & Clyde!
More to come - Mark & Sara’s E-session at the Wijnlands Auto Museum.

After shooting Liani & Dirk’s wedding in the “Koue Bokkeveld” on the Saturday, our mini road trip ended on the Sunday with Lluwellyn & Rika’s wedding in McGregor. McGregor, a little town just 15 minutes outside Robertson, is the perfect weekend getaway destination. And what a breath of fresh air this wedding was! The little stone chapel at Trossachs is built on top of the hill – “a marriage made in heaven” has a literal meaning here…
The couple rented out Trossachs for the whole long weekend and started the celebration on the Thursday with friends and family that also stayed on site in the beautiful stone cottages. What struck me most was the beauty, the barrenness and the quietness of the landscape and surroundings – a spiritual haven where you can experience total peace of mind.

You might remember this couple from the Grit & Guts E-session done on the old abandoned trains…
Nelia & Jason’s wedding at Molenvliet Guest and Wine Estate, was the second of 3 we did at this amazing venue near Stellenbosch. To host an extravagant celebration like this one is not an easy feat – and no one better to make it happen than top wedding coordinator, Karla Oettler of Absolute Weddings. Nelia, you looked every bit like the fairytale princess with that beautiful dress and flowing hair! And Jason, your ever present smile and energy made this day the success it was! Thank you for the opportunity to shoot your wedding!

Errol Arendz wedding shoes might look the part, but it does not beat the feeling of green grass under your feet! – especially the green grass of Rietfontein.
Liani & Dirk got Married on her amazing family farm in the “Koue Bokkeveld”. The wedding was coordinated by Antoinette’s Events of Bredasdorp – and what a great job they did to pull this one off! Liani’s dad, Willie, built this farm up to be nothing short of a small town, complete with its own school, church, sports fields and a shop. For the wedding an old house was renovated, a rugby field size of grass planted to accommodate the huge marquees, stone walls was built and plenty more!

Matjiesfontein is a small little railway town in the Karoo where time has stood still for the last 100 years! It was established in the late 1800’s by an Englishman as a stop-over on route to the diamond mines of Kimberley. Today it’s more like a living museum of yesteryear – the ideal venue to host a destination wedding.
When Cillie & Nicole planned their wedding, they dreamed of an unforgettable wedding experience with guests celebrating with them for the whole weekend. So, they got everyone to meet up in Johannesburg for a day-long journey by train to Matjiesfontein! What an awesome idea to get the spirits up!

Nicole & Helder’s wedding at Molenvliet Wine & Guest Estate was the first one in a series of 3 weddings that we covered there in the past month. My favourite photo of this wedding is the dramatic groomsmen shot above. Let’s dub it…. “the Mafia”.

Maxi & Chris’s 10th wedding anniversary was the second event within a month that Zarazoo covered at South Hill Wine Estate near Elgin. It looks like this venue gives birth to events a tad out of the ordinary! Even though the weather was not 100% what we expected, the pink and blue theme spiced up the whole affair – a colourful celebration of 10 years of marraige! Maxi’s words “This is the wedding I never had!”

It is not every day that you get to do a 3 hour photo shoot with your bride and groom! Rob & Anita’s wedding in Cape Town was a tad bit different to the usual. Coming in at 5, including the couple, this was the smallest wedding I have covered to date! But hey, did we have fun!
No expense was spared to make it the most memorable day for these two from the UK. Kim of Wedding Concepts was hired as coordinator – first the ceremony on the beach at Oude Kraal Nature Reserve and then the Reception at Kensington Place. For the couple shoots, we ferried our VIP’s around Cape Town, to 3 different locations, including Woodstock and sunset on the beach! The night ended with a spectacular fire performance by Firetribe!
