Shooting Lori & Kobus’s wedding did not feel like work at all – it felt more like snapping at a good friend’s wedding. I must also add that the wedding happened at the super relaxed Standkombuis in Yzerfontein – how can you not feel chilled when you’ve got waves breaking in the background and sea sand under your feet!
It was also the first time my very creative sister, Anneke, assisted me. Before this day she’s never handled a SLR camera, but what an amazing natural talent for taking photos she has! So much so that 5 of her photos made the blog post! You go girl!

Anneli (South African) & Wayne (British) got married at 12 Apostles Hotel & Spa last Friday. If you are looking for the perfect all in one venue with the most amazing views and sunsets over the the Atlantic ocean, then look no further. The 12 Apostles Hotel & Spa caters for smaller weddings. Their coordination and supplier sourcing service is the perfect solution for couples from abroad that are looking to get married in South Africa.
See Anneli & Wayne’s E-session done in the UK (Bushy Park). Every year Andre and myself spend July and August in the UK and Europe covering weddings. This is the perfect opportunity for us to also meet with our UK clients that will be getting married in South Africa.

I met up with Kobus & Lorianne for their pre-wedding shoot in Stellenbosch last week. Even though I studied there and know the place quite well, this was the first time that I had actually done a shoot in the town – unbeleivable! We started off at Cape to Cuba with a cocktail and then went for a romantic stroll next to the Eerste River.
Kobus and Lorianne’s relaxed West Coast Wedding took place last Saturday at Strandkombuis in Yzerfontein - Subscribe to our RSS feed to be notified when we post this on this coming Monday.

I love the mountains in the Cape Winelands! I must say that this view at Rouan & Marinique’s ceremony is one of the best! The ceremony was held on their family farm in Wellington and the reception at Kleine Valleij Function Venue, just a few minutes down the road.
Marinique and Rouan like to do things differently. Breaking away from the norm, the couple organised a cocktail party with their guests to start the day. Thereafter, Marinique slipped into her wedding dress with yet another twist…. a blue veil. See plenty more photos below.

Yum! This was the late night snack at Thys and Ladine’s wedding at Diemersdal, last weekend. All kudos to Andrea of Dish Food for their bottomless cup of creativity! In part 1, I already commended Aleit Weddings and Absolute Weddings for their brilliant combined effort. For a complete list of the service providers involved in this wedding, see the bottom of this post.
In Part 2 (this post) we cover the second half, from the pre-drinks through to the end of the reception.

Thys & Ladine’s wedding at their family farm, Diemersdal, will surely go down as one of the “It” weddings of 2009! A brilliant combined effort by top wedding coordinators Karla Oettler of Absolute Weddings and Aleit Weddings, together with excellent weather conditions helped making this wedding the perfect fairytale that girls dream of.
What struck me, was the amazing detail and forethought that went into the planning. Too much to show in one post, so here follows part 1 of a 2-part post. Subscribe to our RSS feed to be notified of Part 2.

I have to take my hat off for the guys at the Aleit Group! Johnny and Andele had only 48 hours to organise this renewal of vows! While on holiday at Spier Wine Estate, Pretty and Valentine decided to splash out a bit on their wedding anniversary – and who better to contact than Aleit Wedding Coordination!
Even though it was a small event with only the 5 family members, it was such an intimate affair! It was the perfect summers day in the Cape Winelands with the most amazing sunset!
