Category: Commercial

A good friend of ours, Karla Oettler of Absolute Weddings and Events Coordination, aksed us to do a “corporate image” shoot for her.  The chosen location was the cut-off bridge, close to the V&A Waterfront – The elevation helped us to get some great shots of Karla with the City of Cape Town in the background.

We were over the moon when Didi of Didi Couture asked us to shoot their wedding.  For Herman and Didi, their relationship is all about spontaneity and laughter and we wanted to reflect this in their e-session.  Blouberg Beach (at the Blowfish restaurant) was the chosen spot – but….. the wind was a gale!  It did not stop us from taking some of the most natural e-session pics to date!

This e-session was done at Vrede en Lust, 3 days before Deborah & Johan’s Wedding.  Deborah is Scottish and Johan, South African and they live in London.  At Vrede en Lust, you can accommodate 22 people for up to four days – so they had a wedding weekend, with their closest family and friends.  We used a lot of off-camera flash on this shoot – and the results were great!

I met up with Johan & Deborah in London nearly a year ago.  Back then Johan was still in the UK Army.  They booked us for their wedding on the 25th of October 2008 soon after – talk about good planning!

They got married at Vrede en Lust in Simondium (in between Paarl &  Franschhoek).  Clear blue skies and a great location mean great photos.  Despite it being 32 degrees Celcius, these guys were up for almost everything  This is a teaser of what is to follow…. Before I did Lilian and Haydn’s E-session in the viaduct under the old Waterloo Eurostar Station in London, I went there to check the place out.  Among these images, you will find some of the famous street artist Banksy.

The sad thing is that I went back there 2 months later and all of these amazing pieces of art below was destroyed by vandals!  Our photos might be some of the only archives!

post Dubai – Old Town

I thought it would be a good idea to get out of the airport and explore Dubai when I was in transit to London in July.  My idea of Dubai was big towers and amazing architecture.  Unforntunately they have a hazey kind of mist there in summer and this meant that visibility is very bad.  I opted to explore the old town of Dubai instead.  I was surprised in what I found!
